A recent good result from the Augrabies Extreme Marathon a seven day stage race in the Kalahari desert . A well organised event that was a seven day stage race covering 250 kilometres in various distance each day . All the competitors were self sufficient for the whole time food first aid etc. with water and shade the only thing provided by the organisers . The longest day was 78 kilometres around 50 miles and the temperature that day touched 50 degrees . I was happy to finish with 4th place and intend to return to improve that some day .
